From April 5-7, 2018, EYA conducted a Social VR Hackathon in Salzburg in coooperation with the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences (FH Salzburg) for the second time and made 90 students from MultiMediaTechnology, Design and Product Management, Social Work, Business Management and everyone interested in coding work together.

Participants had 48 hours to plan, design and create prototypes of smart digital solutions for societal challenges together.

The theme: Digital and Tangible Projects in Social Space!
The participating students studying Social Work at the University of Applied Sciences Salzburg thought about different challenges in today’s society before the Hackathon and elaborated them. These specific topics were the initial starting points and the basis for the developed prototypes. You can read about them here.

The tech focus was on Virtual Reality (VR) and 360°.

International Guest-Coaches from various countries were available for the participants on Friday. They gave feedback and enriched the ideas with their expertise and experience.

The awesome prizes awaiting the winners included concert tickets, various vouchers and (for the best VR team) the chance to go to the Final Championship of the VR Global Hackathon in China and (for the best mobile App team) a seat reserved at the mYouth Continental App Camp in Salzburg!
